Maharashtra: Minor boy drowns in Thane

Thane, Oct 27, (UNI) A seven-year-old boy reportedly died on Sunday after drowning into stagnant water near a pipeline in the Kisan Nagar of the Wagle Estate here.

Regional Disaster Management Cell(RDMC) Chief Santosh Kadam stated that the deceased Aniket Gaikwad was playing with the boys in the locality and fell into the stagnant water beside the water pipeline near a slum colony.

The incident occurred around 1245 hours.

He was fished out and rushed to a nearby hospital,where he was declared brought dead, the RDMC chief said.

The body has been sent for postmortem and further investigation was underway, police added.
