Maharashtra: Four arrested for molesting minor girl

Thane/UNI: Four villagers from Murbad all-around 25 were arrested by the district rural police on Sunday on the alleged charges of molesting a teenage girl the police said today.

A senior police officer from the district rural police today told this correspondent that the victims a boy and a girl were returning along the Malshej ghat road on Saturday evening by a bike.

Enroute near the village Moroshi the foursome waylaid the duo and pulled out the boy and tied him to a tree and abducted the minor girl into the jungle and all of them molested her.

The man who rescued himself ran into the village and alerted the villagers after which the police complaint was filed and the girl was rescued as the foursome escaped into the woods.

The officer said that the police at the Tokawade police station have registered a case under section 354 of the IPC and also POCSO Act he said.

The four were produced before a magistrate who remanded them into police custody for 3 days the police said.
