Maharashtra: Death toll in explosion at Dhule chemical factory climbs to 12

Dhule, Aug 31 (IBNS): The death toll in the explosion of gas cylinders at a chemical factory in Dhule district of Maharashtra climbed to 12, media reports said.

Fifty-eight people were injured in the explosion.

The explosion occurred at around 9:45 pm.

The rescue operations are underway.

At least 100 workers were present in the factory at the time when the explosion took place.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis grieved the losses of lives and also announced Rs. five lakh as a compensation for the kins of the deceased.
