Maharashtra: ACB nabs cop for accepting bribe in Thane

Thane, Jun 4 (UNI) A police sub inspector attached to Nalla Sopara police station of the neighbouring Palghar district has been arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths for allegedly accepting a bribe from a complainant, an official informed on Tuesday.

An offence is registered under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988.

The alleged accused PSI, Siddesh Shinde (43) sought Rs 10,000 from the complainant for not arresting him in an offence registered against him with the Nalla Sopara police and also facilitate him get a bail in the case.

The aggrieved complainant approached Thane Unit of the ACB officials of who laid a trap and nabbed him, the ACB said in a statement.
