Maharashtra: 3 booked in cheating case in Thane

Thane/UNI: Three persons, including a woman, have been booked on the alleged charges of fudging at Baba Ramdev's Patanjali products outlet, the police said on Saturday.

A complainant said between January 2017 and November 2019, a trio misappropriated Rs 39.24 lakh that was received at the outlet.

Of 39.24 lakh, a cash of Rs 24.49 lakhs and Rs 14.75 lakhs in the form of cheques was received from the customers.

When the complainant found that the amount received was less, he checked up the CCTV footages and found that the accused were pocketing the cash at the outlet.
The alleged accused are Ramakant Prajapati, Salesman, Alka Yadav, Operator and Anand Sharma, Manager, who were working with the franchisee of the Pathanjali products at Teesgaon of Kalyan.

An offence under sections 381,420 and 408 rw 34 of the IPC was registered with the Kolshewadi police station, police added.
