Mahagathbandhan allies discuss seat deal in Bihar for LS poll

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) Allies of Mahagathbandhan in Bihar including Congress, RJD, RLSP, HAM and LJD on Wednesday held talks for seat sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, sources said.

A meeting convened by AICC treasurer Ahmad Patel was attended by senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot, party General Secretary KC Venugopal, Bihar in charge Shakti Singh Gohel and BPCC chief Akhilesh Singh, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadv, LJD Sharad Yadav, RLSP leader Upendra Kushwaha, HAM Jitan Ram Manjhi.


The Vikasheel Insan Party chief Mukesh Sahni was also attended the meeting.


Todays meeting was held a day after a meeting of Grand alliance partner in Bihar.


Sources said that the Congress has demanded at least 15 seats out of 40 Lok Sabha seats to contest in the grand alliance where as the RJD wants to give not more than 12 seats.


The final decision is expected to be announced by March 15 after meeting of the alliance partners with Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
The first phase polling is scheduled on April 11.

The Congress has earlier announced that it would give two seats to HAM and Left Parties.


The RJD has authorised Lalu Yadav to finalise alliance with six political parties including Left Party who are against NDA in Bihar.
