New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi put up an appreciation post for his 76-year-old mother Sonia Gandhi a day after their aircraft made an emergency landing in Bhopal, on their way from Bengaluru to Delhi.

"Ma, the epitome of grace under pressure," Gandhi captioned the picture that featured Sonia Gandhi wearing an oxygen mask.

A special plane carrying Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi back to Delhi after the Opposition parties’ meeting in Bengaluru made an emergency landing at the Madhya Pradesh capital’s Raja Bhoj Airport late Tuesday.

Following an approximately hour-long wait, the duo boarded a private airline’s regular flight at 9:40 PM for the national capital.

Earlier, party bigwigs made a beeline for the airport.

According to reports, the alert pilot decided to take no chances after experiencing a paucity of oxygen within the aircraft.

In the Bengaluru meeting, top opposition leaders agreed to form I-N-D-I-A ((Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) to take on the mighty Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the general elections scheduled next year.
