Lufthansa strike triggers protest in Delhi

| @indiablooms | Sep 02, 2022, at 10:21 pm

New Delhi: A global strike by Lufthansa pilots on Friday sparked a noisy demonstration at the Indira Gandhi International Airport after two flights of the German airline were cancelled without prior notice, police said on Friday.

Some 150 people gathered on the main road in front of Terminal 3 demanding refund of money or alternate arrangements for their relatives who were to fly.

Most protesters were family members and relatives of the passengers of the two cancelled flights. The Lufthansa pilot strike took place for a day on Friday.

The airport staff and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel controlled the situation and dispersed the crowd.
