Loud wedding DJ blamed for death of 140 chickens in UP village, police case filed

Sabir Ali, who runs Sabir Ali Poultry Farm in the area, said the incident occurred when a wedding procession passed near his property in a village under the Kudwar region.

The procession, which was for the daughter of local resident Babban Vishwakarma, had come from Ram Bhadra Purva and featured a DJ system playing music at high volume.

Procession passed near farm around 9:30 PM

According to Sabir Ali, the wedding procession moved past his poultry farm at around 9:30 PM. He alleged that the sudden and intense noise from the DJ system frightened the chickens, causing extreme panic among the birds.

He claimed that the poultry could not withstand the high-decibel sound and died shortly after the procession passed.

Complaint filed with police, case registered

In his complaint, Sabir Ali described the DJ sound as excessively loud and stated that it directly led to the deaths of the chickens.

Following the complaint, police registered a case on Tuesday night against DJ operator Kavi Yadav from Parsipur.

Officials have begun investigating the matter to determine whether the music system violated permissible noise limits and whether the sound intensity could have caused such an impact on livestock.

Probe underway into noise levels and impact

Police are now examining the sequence of events and checking whether noise pollution norms were breached during the wedding procession.

Authorities are also assessing whether there is a direct link between the loud music and the poultry deaths.

Experts cite stress response in birds

While the investigation continues, experts point out that sudden exposure to high-intensity sound can cause severe stress in birds. In extreme situations, such stress responses may even lead to cardiac arrest in poultry.

So far, no statement has been issued by the DJ operator or the family hosting the wedding procession.
