New Delhi, June 28 (IBNS): India on Saturday said less than 100 people are present in the conflict zone in Iraq.

"We can say that less than 100 people are present there," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said while addressing a press conference here.

He said the Indians, who were held captive in the nation, remained 'unharmed'.

"Those Indians remain in captivity. But we have information that they remain unharm..We are extremely careful and pursuing the matter step by step," he said.

He said India has set up three camp offices to facilitate departure of 10,000 nationals from non-conflicting zones in Iraq.

Akbaruddin said External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has summoned top Indian envoys in Gulf countries for consultations over the crisis in Iraq here on Sunday.

He said the Indian officials are in touch with the 46 nurses who are stranded in Iraqi city Tirkit.

Denying reports of any explosion in the compound where the nurses are staying, he said: "There have not been any  explosion in their compound."
