Last rites of former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee to be performed today

New Delhi: The last rites of former India President Pranab Mukherjee will be performed on Tuesday.

A receipient of India's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna, Pranab Mukherjee died on Monday.

He died in New Delhi's Army Hospital. 

He was 84.

Mukherjee was admitted in the hospital on August 10 in a critical condition. He had a large brain clot, for which he underwent an emergency life-saving surgery. He was also found to be suffering from COVID-19.

His son Abhijit Mukherjee made the announcement of Pranab Mukherjee's death on social media.
