Bhopal/IBNS: A day after Jyotiraditya Scindia's departure from Congress, a land grabbing case that had been closed in 2018 due to lack of evidence has been reopened on grounds of fresh evidence against him, media reports said.

The complainant in the case has claimed to have fresh evidence against Scindia after which the Economic Offences Wing(EOW) reopened the case lodged in 2014. In the case, Scindia and his family have been accused of forging a land document while selling the property.

A day after Scindia severed ties with the Congress, triggering a political crisis in Madhya Pradesh, the state EOW decided to check the the facts in the complaint filed by one Surendra Shrivastava, said the reports.

The state EOW has said as the complainant petitioned again, reverification of the facts will be done.

However, Scindia's close aide has alleged that the case had been reopened out of venegeance and their is no truth in the allegations.
