Lalu-Nitish to hold their second rally today
Patna, Aug 17 (IBNS): Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who recently joined hands after twenty years of difference, will hold their second rally together in Chhapra district of Bihar on Sunday.
The two leaders, who parted ways twenty years ago, are campaigning together for the by-polls for 10 Assembly seats scheduled to be held on Aug 21.
On Aug 11, they held their first rally together and were seen hugging each other at the event.
Speaking at the rally, Nitish Kumar attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre and said people of the country are still waiting for the 'good day' the ruling party had promised ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
" Good days were promised but where are the good days? People are still waiting for it. Good days have not come for people. They have come for some BJP members. When the country is in danger, we should forget our own differences and join hands to make the country stronger," Kumar said.
Yadav and Kumar have both served as Bihar Chief Minister.
The parties entered into a seat-sharing agreement along with the Congress in which both JD-U and RJD will contest in four seats each leaving two to the Congress in the state.
The by-elections in 10 assembly seats are being seen as the semi-finals with all eyes on the state polls scheduled next year.
The BJP criticised the move made by the two senior Bihar leaders and said it only reflected their 'lust for power'.
"It's the lust for power and threat of defeat have brought them together. Bihar is watching all these. This will unveil the real faces of the two leaders," BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy told media.
