Kolkata: Two arrested for betting during India-South Africa World Cup match

Kolkata, Jun 6 (UNI): Police have arrested two businessmen from an office in central Kolkata while they were engaged in betting during India-South Africa World Cup play in England and sized cash over Rs 1 lakh and instruments being used for illegal gambling.

The detectives of Kolkata Police raided the office at R.N. Mukherjee Road in Dalhousie area on Wednesday evening and arrested Rabindra Pataudiya, a resident of Lake Town, and Neeraj Jain of New Alipur.

Police also seized cash over Rs 1 lakh, five cell phones and two computers, which were being used during betting and gambling.

Police in recent time has arrested nearly half-a-dozen people for cricket betting played in different continents and in India.

The duo would be produced before a city court later today.
