Kolkata, Mar 2 (IBNS): An FIR has been lodged against a Kolkata outlet of American fast-food chain McDonald's after a family alleged they found a deep fried lizard in the packet of french fries, served by the popular restaurant, reports said.

According to reports, a middle-aged woman from Kolkata along with her pregnant daughter and four-year-old granddaughter went to a McDonald's outlet at Mani Square mall in the city's E.M. Bypass area on Feb 28 morning to have breakfast.

Their order included among other things, McD's special french fries.

Following the incident, they lodged a complaint against the food chain at Phoolbagan Police Station.

A senior administrative official of McDonald's (India division) said that they had already been informed about the incident and McDonald's authority has directed for a thorough investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Police are also looking into the incident, an official said.
