Kolkata: Left's youth and students wings hold protest march
Kolkata, Sept 15 (IBNS): Agitating several issues and demanding transparency in upcoming Primary Teachers Eligibility Test (TET), the Left youth and student wings including the Student Federation of India (SFI) and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) hosted a protest rally in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Leaders and supporters of 12 Left youth and students' organizations took part in the rally which started from College Street area and ended at Esplanade area in Kolkata.
After the rally, a 13-member delegation team led by SFI's general secretary and CPI-M Rajya Sabha member Ritabrata Banerjee met the West Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and submitted a deputation to him.
However, a huge police force including the Rapid Action Force (RAF) were deployed at Rani Rasmoni Road in Kolkata's Esplanade area to maintain the law and order.
