Kolkata: EC directs repolling in 200 no. polling station of Jorasanko assembly segment

Kolkata, May 21 (IBNS): The Election Commission (EC) has directed repolling in 200-Sanskrit Collegiate School’s Room Number 1 of Jorasanko assembly segment of Kolkata Uttar Parliamentary Constituency (PC).

The poll for the General Election 2019 was held in this constituency in the seventh phase of poll on May 19.

Repolling will be held in this polling station on May 22 from 7 am to 6 pm.

After taking into account of all material circumstances, on the basis of reports submitted by the Returning Officer and the General Observer of this PC, the Secretariat of the Election Commission of India, has given instructions to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), West Bengal for holding fresh election in this polling station tomorrow under Sub-Section (2) of Section 58 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

Elections in all Lok Sabha seats across the nation concluded on May 19.

The poll results will be declared on May 23.
