Kolkata, Mar 6 (IBNS): Security at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBI-CCU) in Kolkata has been beefed up after the airport authority received an anonymous threat email on Saturday midnight, officials said.

According to reports, the manager received an email in airport's official mail account where an anonymous person demanded a specific amount of British pounds.

The email-sender also threatened to destroy the airport if the  authority does not pay him the money.

After receiving the information, the CISF and police from NSCBI police station held a search operation at the entire facility.

However, no suspicious object has been found so far.

"We and the CISF have beefed up security level at the airport here. Nothing suspicious has been found so far. We have started investigation into the matter and are searching for the threat-email sender," one senior official of Bidhannagar Police Commitionerate told IBNS.
