Knowledge and power come with responsibility: PM Modi at VBU Convocation

New Delhi/IBNS: In a message to the graduating students, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said knowledge and power come with responsibility while speaking at the convocation of the Centre's Visva Bharati University.

"All should remember knowledge, decision, skill are not static but fluid. There is always a room for course correction in it. But knowledge and power come with responsibility," Modi said.

In a message to the students, the Prime Minister said, "Your knowledge and skill can make your country proud and also defame and destroy it. There are plenty of such examples in history and present."

"There are a number of people, who are causing terror and spreading hatred, are highly learned and highly skilled. On the flip side, there are highly learned and highly skilled people who are toiling for the remedies of the Covid-19," he added.

"This is not just the matter of ideology but mindset too. Your action reveals whether your mindset is positive or negative," he said.

While Modi addressed the students virtually amid the Coronavirus situation, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was physically present at the event.

Like during the Centenary celebrations in Dec 2020, Modi on Friday too invoked Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore and recited some of his poems while addressing the students in poll-bound West Bengal.

Visva Bharati, a central university, was founded by Bengali poet-writer-composer Rabindranath Tagore.
