Kolkata, Apr 18 (IBNS): Amid tight security arrangements, polling for the 144-seat Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is currently underway here on Saturday.

The poll is seen as a test for the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).

While the CPI-M is targeting to regain grounds, the BJP is attempting to make their presence felt in the city through this poll.

Meanwhile, minor incidents of violence been reported from different parts of Kolkata since polling commenced in the morning.

TMC had won the KMC polls in 2010.

More than 37 lakh voters will decide the fates of the candidates on Saturday.
