Bangalore, July 12 (IBNS) A six-year-old girl was abducted and then strangled to death on Wednesday by her own unlce and aunt in Bangalore after the kidnapping for ransom went awry, said media reports on Saturday.

Reports said the girl was picked up from her school by her aunt Shabreen and along with her husband Salman decided to seek ransom money from her parents.

Salman in a ransom call demanded Rs 10 lakh from the girl's family and also sent text messages. The victim's father works in Dubai and so the kidnappers thought of a hefty ransom by kidnapping the girl.

But at some point things went wrong and the couple decided to kill the girl. She was killed with a dupatta.

The accused couple confessed to their crime. They were arrested.
