Jammu/UNI: The security forces on Tuesday neutralised four more terrorists in the ongoing Operation Trinetra-2 in Surankote tehsil of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the last 24 hours, six terrorists have been neutralised in Poonch district.

On the intervening night of July 16–17, two terrorists were killed as the Army foiled an infiltration bid near the Line of Control in Poonch district.

The Defence Spokesman on Tuesday said that in a major Cordon and Search Operation, acting on specific intelligence, four terrorists were eliminated in a joint operation by the Indian Army and Police near Sindarah and Maidana villages in tehsil Surankote of Poonch district.

"Along with the terrorists, four AK-47s, two pistols, and other warlike stores were also recovered," he said.

The spokesman added, "The elimination of these terrorists has avoided major terrorist initiated incidents in Rajouri and Poonch areas while the search operations are still in progress."
