A mob allegedly assaulted a woman in Karnataka's Davanagere city after her husband complained about her to a local mosque regarding a domestic dispute.

The assault reportedly occurred outside a local mosque.

The incident was captured on camera and circulated online.

The video sparked massive online outrage.

The victim, who was identified as Shabina Banu, was at home when her relative Nasreen, visited her on April 7.

A man named Fayaz also went to her house at that time.

The three then went for a short outing before returning to Shabina's home, officials told NDTV.

Shabina's husband, Jameel Ahmed, later returned home and found Fayaz and Nasreen at his home.

Jameel, who became angry seeing them at home, approached the Jama Masjid in Bengaluru's Tavarekere and filed a complaint against her.

The court summoned Nasreen, Fayaz and Banu on April 9.

Six people reportedly attacked Shabina with sticks and pipes and left her significantly injured.

Police later arrested six people over the incident after the video went viral.

A case has been filed against them under charges related to conspiracy, assault, and attempted murder, officials told NDTV.
