Kanpur, Aug 2 (IBNS): A senior Kanpur police officer was transferred after being found hugging and kissing on the forehead of a murder accused, police said.

Inspector General (IG) Ashutosh Pandey on Friday transferred RK Naik, a circle officer, for hugging and kissing Piyush Shyam Dasani at Swaroop Nagar police station, the key accused in Jyoti murder case.

Piyush was arrested on July 30 for his alleged involvement in his wife’s murder along with his girlfriend’s driver Avdhesh who was also arrested on the same day. Piyush was taken into remand on Friday for interrogation.

When the circle officer asked Piyush whether he would mend his ways in future and the accused replied in affirmative, Naik hugged him and kissed on his forehead dubbing him a “good boy”.
