Kanpur building collapse: Several feared dead, rescue operation underway

Kanpur, Feb 1 (IBNS): Several people are feared to have been killed as an under-construction multi-storey building collapsed at Kanpur city in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, officials said.

Several people are feared to be trapped under debris.

Rescue operation is currently going on.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), which is involved in the rescue act, tweeted: "An under-construction building collapsed at Mehatab Alam Area, Kanpur, UP. NDRF teams rushed to the site."

"NDRF teams conducting operation at Mehatab Alam Area, Kanpur, UP," read another tweet.

More details are awaited.
