New Delhi/UNI: Supreme Court judge Justice DY Chandrachud, who was heading the bench hearing cases on COVID-19 pandemic management, has tested positive for the Coronavirus.

According to sources on Wednesday, a staffer of the judge had earlier tested positive for the virus.

On Monday, he heard the matter on the suo motu case regarding the distribution of essential supplies and services during the COVID-19 pandemic. But the proceedings were deferred for Thursday after facing technical glitches during the virtual proceedings.

The bench had also stated that it will go through the Centre's compliance affidavit on vaccination and hospitalisation policies.

In absence of the judge, the hearing is likely to be adjourned for another date.
