Kolkata, Mar 23 (IBNS): The Kolkata Police on Monday evening arrested two students of Jadavpur University (JU) in connection with the molestation case.

A student of JU lodged a complaint at Jadavpur Police Station against two classmates for molesting her at the campus on Friday night (Mar 20).

She alleged that she was sexually molested by two of her classmates during a fest arranged by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Students' Union (FETSU) at the University campus.

Police called the two accused students at Jadavpur Police Station and after a long interrogation police arrested them on Monday.

According to police sources, the arrested students have been charged under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 354-A (sexual harassment), 114 (abettor present when offence is committed) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).

According to IBNS records the two arrested students were involved actively in the 'Hok Kolorob' (Let there be noise) movement against the former Vice-Chancellor of JU Abhijit Chakraborty.

Police said they would be produced to the court on Tuesday.
