J&K cop killed in militant grenade attack in Kulgam

Srinagar/UNI: A Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel was killed in a grenade attack lobbed by unknown militants at Qaimoh area of Kulgam district, police said on Sunday.

Militants hurled a hand grenade at a police party in Qaimoh area on Saturday night during which J&K Police personnel was injured.

He was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital Anantnag for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased cop has been identified as Tahir Khan a resident of Mendhar, Poonch in the Jammu division.

“A grenade incident was reported yesterday night in Qaimoh Kulgam. In this terror incident, 01 police personnel namely Tahir Khan R/O Mendhar, Poonch got injured. He was shifted to GMC hospital Anantnag for treatment where he succumbed & attained martyrdom”, a police tweet said.
