J&K: Army foils infiltration bid along LoC, kills 3 terrorists
Srinagar, July 12 (IBNS): The Indian Army has foiled an infiltration bid near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Keran sector leaving three terrorists killed in the operation.
"In a joint operation by Army and Police three terrorists were killed in Keran Sector, J&K. Weapons & War like stores recovered. #JKOps," the Indian Army tweeted.
The Army launched the joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police after they spotted suspicious movements along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector on Saturday midnight.
The security forces challenged the intruders which resulted in a gunfight.
The exchange of fire continued for couple of hours and three bodies were recovered during the searches on Sunday morning.
The security forces also recovered several weapons and war like stores from the possession of the terrorists.
The infiltration of militants along the LoC in Kashmir has reportedly increased over the past few weeks as the snow along the high mountain passes started melting.
