Jawan martyred in Pakistani firing on LoC

Jammu, Jul 22 (UNI) An Army jawan allegedly attained martyrdom as Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Keri Battal area of Akhnoor sector, official sources said here on Monday.

They said that cross border firing started in the area on Monday morning and was on progress when last reports poured in.

"One jawan suffered injuries in firing and later succumbed to injuries," the source added.

Earlier on July 20, Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Poonch district and on July 12 also, Indian Army retaliated to the cross border firing as Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Poonch and Rajouri districts.
