Jammu Press Club, Google hold workshop on social media, fake news

Jammu, Mar 9 (UNI) In a bid to create awareness among tech-savvy people, the Press Club of Jammu in collaboration with Google on Saturday organised a daylong workshop here.

A teaching fellow from Google Newslab Geetika Rustagi, who had come all the way from Delhi-based Google headoffice along with trainers Archana Kumari, Department of Mass Communication, Central University Jammu and senior journalist-cum Google trainer Deepak Khajuria delivered lectures on various topics related to security safety in social media world.

The speakers threw light on topics like Digital Safety and Security, You tube for election and Photo and video verifications.

Journalists, students and teaching faculty from various universities, media organistations attended the workshop.

President, Press Club of Jammu, Ashwani Kumar said Jammu and Kashmir is a 'happening' region and to prevent rumour mongering besides to spread awareness among general masses about fake news so that they do not get trapped into any propaganda, this initiative of holding workshop was taken.
