Jammu: Police arrest four accused in murder case

Jammu Police on Sunday claimed to have cracked the blind murder case of a man in Bishnah area here in the city outskirts.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Chandan Kohli said that the gruesome murder case of Sunny Saansiya of Kothey Bulanday, Chorli, Bishnah, who was attacked by some unknown persons on September 14 at his residence and succumbed later on being rushed to the hospital, has been solved with the arrest of four persons.

The Jammu SSP said that police teams under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu, Ramnish Gupta, were constituted and after getting leads, by acquiring technical evidence and human intelligence, they picked up various suspects.

“During sustained interrogation, one of the suspects namely, Sukhdev Singh alias Makhan of Bari Brahmana, District Samba admitted to the commission of the crime and also disclosed the involvement of others who had provided the logistics support, and concealed the vehicles along with sharp-edged weapons and a pistol used in the offence.

The snatched vehicle, after the commission of the crime, was also recovered, he said and added that the prime accused also divulged the details of his accomplices, and after day-long raids at various places, police succeeded in arresting four accused persons.

The arrested persons were identified as Sukhdev Singh alias Makhan of Bari Brahmana, Samba, Dushyant Kumar of Palli, Sarpanch Yuvraj Singh of Kallana, Arnia, Jammu and Nasir Khan of Badhar Khan, Bishnah, Jammu.

Notably, the vehicle used for fleeing from the scene of crime that had been thrown into the canal was also recovered.

Investigation of the case is going on and arrests of two more persons who are evading arrest are likely to be made, they added.
