Jammu: PDD lineman murdered, one held

Jammu, Aug 31 (UNI) A lineman of Power Development Department(PDD) was on Saturday murdered over land issue in Gharota area here on city outskirts, police said.

The deceased identified as Satpal, a PDD lineman.


The main accused identified as Hem Raj alias Jakkar of village Jandial, Gharota.


"They both had altercation with each other over a land issue on Friday evening following which the accused threatened him of dire consequences and the deceased snapped his power supply, which further escalated the tension, police further said.


"On Saturday morning, Hem Raj and his accomplices took Satpal to a nearby field and slit his throat," police stated.


"We have arested the main accused while manhunt is on to nab others," police further stated.


A case has been registered and investigation started, police added.
