Jammu and Kashmir: Special police officer shot dead in Shopian

Shopian, Mar 16 (IBNS): Unknown gunmen shot dead a special police officer in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian area on Saturday, media reports said.

The officer was reportedly attacked outside the house.

The officer has been identified as  Khushboo Jan.

"She was fired upon in Shopian district’s Vehil village. Immediately after the attack, she was taken to the hospital in a critical condition where she succumbed to her injuries," Hindustan Times reported.

Kashmir witnessed tensed moments on Feb 14 when 40 Indian paramilitary officials were killed in a terror attack in Pulwama area.
