Jammu and Kashmir SI recruitment scam: CBI conducts searches in 7 locations

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday conducted searches at seven locations including Jammu, Pathankot in Punjab, Rewari and Karnal (both in Haryana) over the  Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment scam in Jammu and Kashmir.

The searches were conducted at the premises of former CRPF constable Surender Singh and Yatin Yadav. Surender Singh was arrested on November 6 and is currently in police custody, while Yatin was arrested on September 19 and is currently in judicial custody, reports India Today.

The probe agency had registered the case on August 8 at the request of the Jammu and Kashmir government to investigate the alleged irregularities in the written exam conducted by the J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB).

The exam to recruit  1,200 sub inspectors for the state police was conducted on Mar 27.

The Results of the examination were released on June 4.

So far, 13 people have been arrested in connection with the case, reports India Today.
