Jammu and Kashmir: Police arrest militant associate with pistol, live rounds in Poonch

Jammu: Police on Sunday arrested a militant associate along with a weapon and ammunition in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

A police spokesman said that a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police and Army in Salwa and Behra areas of Mendhar.

“During search operation, one person namely Tayab Khan of Salwa, an OGW, was asked to stop but he tried to run away,” he said, adding that the security personnel caught him and during search, one pistol along with eight live rounds were recovered from his possession.

A case under relevant sections was registered and investigation started, a police spokesman said.
