Srinagar: Municipal councilor from Baramulla Nighat Mir traveled all the way from north Kashmir to join Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s led Bharat Jodo Yatra that resumed on Saturday morning from south Kashmir.

She took part in the Yatra along with her supporters.

“This Yatra is for the unity of India and that is the reason I traveled all the way from Baramulla to south Kashmir so that I become part of this cause,” Mir said.

She said that she and her supporters traveled in 10 vehicles to reach the Yatra venue.

“After hiccups at many places due to security reasons, we managed to join the yatra,” she said, adding that she was welcomed by Congress leaders in the Yatra.

The Congress party said that people from various parts of the valley joined the Yatra on Saturday.
