Jammu/UNI: Panic gripped the bordering belt after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found on Saturday morning along Rajouri-Poonch highway in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police sources said that soon after getting an information about some abandoned object lying on the highway near Bathuni, joint teams of police and army rushed to the spot.

"It was an IED but the Bomb Disposal Squad acted swiftly and exploded it thus averting a major tragedy," they said.

No injury or any major damage was reported.

Police said that the suspended traffic has resumed on the highway, which was shut due to security reasons.
