Jammu and Kashmir: EDB conducts financial awareness program at Anantnag

 Continuing with its efforts of spreading financial awareness amongst common masses especially for people living in rural and far flung areas, Ellaquai Dehati Bank (EDB) organised a financial literacy program at Village Hugam, Anantnag.

In a press handout the bank said that local panches, Sarpanches, number of farmers and rural artisans of Block Mattan participated in the program.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman Ellaquai Dehati Bank Arshadul Islam apprised them about the benefits of various schemes of government and highlighted the role of Ellaquai Dehati Bank in providing these facilities to customers in rural and semi urban areas.

He impressed upon them to connect with banks for availing benefits of schemes like DBTL, MGNREGA, Atal Pension Yojna, PMJJBY, etc.

He informed them about interest subsidy facility being given by government through banks on prompt and timely repayment of KCC loans and advised them to inculcate the habit of financial discipline and ensure timely repayment of KCC loans for becoming eligible for interest subvention.

Participants thanked Chairman EDB and FLC Councilor for arranging this programme in Matan area, the statement reads.
