Jammu and Kashmir: CRPF officer dies in Kulgam

Srinagar/UNI: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Sub Inspector (SI), who was on duty, died under mysterious circumstances in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, official sources said here on Monday.

They said an SI, identified as Shabad Kumar of the 93rd CRPF Battalion, was found unconscious while he was on duty at DK Marg Higher Secondary School in Kulgam at around 0030 hrs on Monday. “Kumar was immediately taken to a local hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” they said.

They said the exact cause of the death was not immediately known. “The cause of the death of the CRPF officer will be known after the postmortem report comes in,” they said, adding police has registered a case and initiated investigation.
