The snow avalanche was triggered this afternoon near Afarwat hills at Hapath Khud in Gulmarg. The moment when the avalanche hit the Gulmarg resort was caught on camera and it showed people running for safety.

Police said so far 19 foreign nationals have been rescued successfully.

“Dead bodies of 2 foreign nationals recovered being shifted to hospital for medico legal procedures,” a police statement said.

The identities of the slain could not be established immediately.
