Jagdalpur -Bhubaneswar Hirakhand express train derails, several feared killed

Bhubaneswar, Jan 22 (IBNS): Several people are feared to have been killed as eight coaches of Jagdalpur -Bhubaneswar Hirakhand express train derailed near Kuleri station in Odisha on Sunday, media reports said.

The Ministry of Railways said rescue and relief operationa are currently going on.

"Relief train has reached the site, rescue and relief operations underway," the Ministry said.

"Total 4 accident relief vans rushed from different places.Priority is treatment,shifting of injured passengers to nearest hospital," he said.

"Medical relief trains reaching the site.All rescue and relief apparatus mobilised immediately," the Ministry said in another tweet.

Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu is monitoring the situation, the Ministry said.

More details are awaited.
