New Dehi, Aug 5 (IBNS): The BJP MP from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, on Monday welcomed the centre's decision to abrogate Article 370 for Jammu and Kashmir and grant union territory status to the Ladakh region.

"I extend my heartiest thanks to Honourble PM Narendra Modi Ji and Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah ji for the historic bill. I also extend my heartiest congratulations to the people of my Ladakh for the most Acchey Din,"

He also said hardly 15 per cent of the people in Jammu and Kashmir will be against it.

'I, on behalf of people of Ladakh will thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for taking a stand which is in larger interest of India. Hardly 15 per cent will make noise for some time but the people in general, will welcome it,' the BJP MP said.
