Israel PM Netanyahu speaks to PM Modi days after minor blast outside embassy in Delhi
New Delhi/IBNS: Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanked him for his "government's efforts to safeguard Israeli representatives" after a minor blast occurred outside the country's embassy in the national capital last week.

PM Modi conveyed his strong condemnation of the terror attack near the Israeli Embassy.
He assured Prime Minister Netanyahu that India accords the highest importance to the safety and security of Israeli diplomats and premises, and would deploy all its resources to find and punish the perpetrators.
"Both leaders expressed satisfaction about the close coordination between Indian and Israeli security agencies in this context," an Indian government statement said.
The two leaders also briefed each other about the progress of the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in their respective countries and discussed possibilities of further collaboration in this area.
On Friday, a low-intensity improvised device went off at 5.05 pm near the Israel Embassy, just 1.4 kilometres from Vijay Chowk, where President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior members of the government had gathered to attend the Beating Retreat ceremony.
Windshields of at least three vehicles were broken in the blast but no report of any injury or death was reported.
On that very day, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke to his Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi following the explosion outside the Israeli embassy in the national capital and assured him of "fullest protection" to the diplomats.
Jaishankar had said India has taken the incident "very seriously" and the matter was under investigation.
