IPL scam: Meiyappan's voice sample confirmed in tapped conversation
Mumbai, Oct 24 (IBNS): Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team's former team principal Gurunath Meiyappan's voice sample has been confirmed in a tapped conversation in connection with the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal, media reports said.
According to reports, the final report prepared by Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee, which was appointed to investigate the scam, has confirmed the voice samples of Meiyappan, who is the son-in-law of N Srinivasan.
The conversation reportedly took place between Meiyappan and Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh during the sixth edition of IPL.
The Indian Premier League Probe Committee, headed by Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal, submitted its report on Feb 10 where it found suspended Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N Srinivasan's son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team's Gurunath Meiyappan guilty of match-fixing.
The 170-page report, filed in the Supreme Court said Meiyappan had fixed and put bets on IPL matches.
