New Delhi/Chandigarh/UNI: Indian National Lok Dal legislator Abhay Singh Chautala on Wednesday tendered his resignation from the Haryana Assembly over the three recently enacted farm laws.

According to sources, Speaker Gian Chand Gupta has accepted Mr Chautala's resignation.

"One should have courage to walk in Tau Devi Lal's shoes. Honorable Abhay Singh Chautala ji submitted his resignation to the speaker,' INLD said soon after its leader quit the house.

The Ellenabad legislator had earlier announced to take the drastic step if Centre fails to resolve the deadlock with farmers by January 26.
