New Delhi, July 23 (IBNS): Indian politicians, including PM Narendra Modi, on Tuesday paid tributes to revolutionary Chandra Shekhar Azad on his 113th birth anniversary.

In a Hindi tweet, Narendra Modi paid homage to the late revolutionary.

BJP leader Rajyavardhan Rathore tweeted: "A free spirit, a free mind, Chandrashekhar Azad was born with both! My sincere tributes on his Jayanti. He was a fearless freedom fighter who left generations inspired with his patriotism and bravery! #ChandrashekharAzad."

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis also greeted the leader.

Azad had played a crucial role in India's fight for gaining freedom from the British rule.
