Indian PM Narendra Modi wishes President Kovind as he turns 74

New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday greeted President Ram Nath Kovind as he turned 74.

Wishing the Indian leader, Modi tweeted: "Greetings to Rashtrapati Ji on his birthday." 

" India has gained significantly from his insights and understanding of policy matters. One can always see his passion towards empowering the poor and downtrodden," Modi said.

" May Almighty bless him with a long and healthy life. @rashtrapatibhvn," he said.

Born October 1, 1945, Kovind is the 14th President of India. He is in in office since July 25, 2017.

He had also served as the Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 and was a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from 1994 to 2006.
