Indian Navy denies Pakistan's claim of thwarting Indian submarine

| @indiablooms | Mar 05, 2019, at 08:21 pm

New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) Denying Pakistan's claim that the Indian Navy's submarine had been detected and thwarted by its Navy from entering its maritime domain, Indian Navy on Tuesday accused them of indulging in false propaganda and spreading misinformation.

In a series of tweets, an Indian Navy Spokesperson said, ''As was stated during the Joint Press Statement on February 28, the Indian Navy remains deployed as necessary, to protect the National Maritime Interests. Over the past several days, we have witnessed Pakistan indulging in false propaganda and spread of misinformation."

''The Indian Navy does not take cognisance of such propaganda. Our deployments remain undeterred,'' the Spokesperson added.

On Tuesday, the Pakistani Navy released a video, purportedly of the Indian submarine. The video, shot from air, shows the mast of a submarine above water.

A Pakistan Navy Spokesperson said, ''The Pakistan Navy used its specialised skills to ward off the submarine, successfully keeping it from entering Pakistani waters.''

"''The Indian submarine was not targeted, keeping in view Pakistan's policy of peace,'' the Spokesperson added.

"If you compare the two videos that Pakistan is putting out (on Indian submarines)... they are identical. If you go to the YouTube, you will find exact picture of submarine of November 18, 2016. The only difference is they have changed the time line below," sources in the Indian Defence establishment, said.
