Srinagar: The Indian Army recently hosted  a painting competition for students in Srinagar, a crucial exposure for children who have been fighting hard against COVID-19 and resulted restrictions in the society.

The initiative was taken at a time when  Covid restrictions were eased in the union territory.

The event was reportedly hosted in association with local schools.

Students and teachers have appreciated the initiative.

Urba Firdous, an 8th standard student, told ANI, “I am so glad that it has been organised for us. We were depressed due to lockdown. With a feeling of competitiveness, children can up their skills.”

Another student Sania Mir told the news agency: "“With this completion, we got to show our talent. Such contests bring good exposure to students."

Ab. Hameed, a teacher, echoed a similar stance  when he said, “It will boost the morale of children.”
